Artist INC Live Houston - Fall 2025

Artist INC LIVE is a training seminar designed to address the specific professional and entrepreneurial challenges that artists of all disciplines face in their practices. Artists will learn and grow together through artist facilitator mentoring, small group activities, large group discussions, multimedia lectures, and networking with other artists across disciplines.

Approximately 25 artists will be selected through an application process to engage in an eight-week training seminar led by a team of six trained artist peer facilitators.

How do we define an “artist”?

If you engage in a creative practice, you are an artist. Our definition of an artist is broad and includes, but isn’t limited to, creative workers, idea purveyors, dancers, makers, artisans, illustrators, culinary artists, actors, playwrights, storytellers, social conveners, imaginaries, poets, cultural workers, visionaries, change makers, textile artists, photographers, teaching artists, filmmakers, sculptors, designers, crafters, organizers, rock stars, and more.

Artist Application Information

Choose one item from the dropdown list that best describes your primary art form. You will have a chance to explain your practice in the narrative question below.

Tell Us About Yourself:

1) In your own words, describe your creative practice.

2 ) What do you want your creative practice to look like five years from now? How do you think the Artist INC program will advance your practice and/or career?

For the two narrative questions listed above, you have the option to submit in one of the following formats:
  • Written Responses to each question (300 word limit each)
  • URL to Video/Audio Recording responding to both questions (up to 5 minutes total)

Write or record a response that helps us get to know you and what you love about being creative. You can talk about what inspires you, what’s important to you when you create, what processes you use, or projects you’ve done that really mattered to you. (300 word limit or recording)

How do you think being part of the Artist INC program could help you get there? Could it help you grow, meet new people, or try something different? There’s no one right answer. We just want to hear about your goals and how this opportunity might help you reach them. (300 word limit or recording)
